Is there a population count for the Old republic during the Kotor games?

The Infinite Empire was 500 star sytems which wass massive at the time.

The old sith empire was 300 star systems and that was considered small I think to the republic in 5000BBY so by 4000BBY how big was the republic?

By the time of the films I remember a book that said the republic was like 25000 systems so is there a figure for the kotor era?
