I’m not sure the man I’m dating has a romantic interest in me. How should I navigate this?

DATING ADVICE

Hello everyone :)

I posted about this man before and now have more questions from people with more dating experiences: we have been on fourth dates so far. The third date was a dinner and then bar, then he set up a fourth date two days later and we grabbed brunch. We have talked about politics, our cultures, and I’ve tried to weave in certain topics such as kids, marriage, etc to gauge his response. He told me nowadays political alignment is very important (we have that alignment) and he has also asked me questions about when is the usual age for women in my culture to get married, whether I prefer a chaotic or calm life, etc. he’s slowly sharing more information about his family, siblings, work, etc. but I genuinely cannot tell if he likes me romantically as a potential partner or not.

I’m not in a rush (I’m in my early/mid 20s and he’s in his late 30s) but my dating approach is to screen out for incompatibilities as soon as possible since my goal is to settle down with a suitable partner, have kids, and live my desired (and hopefully my partner’s!) life.

Also, when it comes to the physical side of things, he didn’t kiss me until date 3 and we had a few pecks on date 3 basically. He also held my hand on the same date. Other than that, he has only kissed me on the cheek. Overall, he’s been respectful: texts me more recently, plans dates thoughtfully, is engaged, etc. But I genuinely can’t tell if he sees me as a potential romantic partner or not. My interest in him has been growing although the chemistry isn’t as fiery as it was with a previous man I dated but that relationship was also not the most stable one.

Am I overthinking this? I’d appreciate any advice!
