Is it normal for your partner to not text you updates when sick?

My partner texted me yesterday that he was bedridden since the day before and is feeling unwell. He has been in and out of sleeping the whole of yesterday and today I haven’t received anymore updates about his condition. Naturally, I’m very worried about his condition and wishes that he could update me how he’s doing even if it’s just twice a day. He has been sick before while I was visiting and he usually recovers within a day but since I’m not there, I’m just worried how he’s holding up
