Best Helmet for Kids

Male, 6 yo, arthrogryposis in upper limbs. 48 pounds, 4 feet tall.

I was wondering if there was a better helmet style for kids? My son has arthrogryposis in his upper limbs so when he falls he rarely is able to break his falls. This usually results in the temple area/“horns” getting a knot.

He was riding his scooter earlier and fell. Luckily he had his bike style helmet on and it helped. However he still got a decent size knot near his temple.

Are skate style better for protecting heads?
