Has Dave Gettleman been sort of vindicated and deserving of more credit than he's been given (not saying he was a great GM, just maybe that he shouldn't be as hated as he is)? He's drafted absolute studs in AT, Dexy, McKinney, Saquon and even Daniel Jones looks like he was the right pick.
With all the Schoen hatred around here, it had me thinking if we would have been better off with Gettleman still around. He really was a good drafter in the end. On top of the guys mentioned above, he drafted other solid-great players in later rounds such as Julian Love and BJ Hill. Even Darius Slayton was a great 5th round pick.
Obviously he had some huge whiffs in DeAndre Baker, Will Hernandez, Kadarius Toney, etc., and his free agent signings were a problem too, but an entirely Gettleman drafted roster wouldn't be looking too bad right now imo.
If Schoen has hit on Dart, Carter, Skat this draft, I think that essentially clears his previous record, especially if Dart turns into a top 5-10 QB, but what do you guys think? Does Gettleman deserve more credit than he's given?
