Fire in the sky inspiration

Anyone ever seen that old 90s sci fi movie “fire in the sky” there is a scene near the end when a captured human wakes up in an alien spaceship after being placed in a holding container, this holding room looks very similar to the giant room in the collectors space ship with millions of similar holding capsules. The entire space ship looks quite similar in design also.

I wonder if this was an inspiration for the ship in mass effect 2? Very similar aesthetics and feeling of dread.
