I went out yesterday to revisit a nearby river in the Coast Range in southern Oregon. Water levels are just starting to rise as the rainy season begins. I wanted to check out pools and tributaries I'd not visited before.

I only landed a few fish, all on a size 12 copper john kebari using my Keiryu Rod Co. MiniMax. I spooked plenty more and saw tons of fingerlings. Next spring, I want to explore the areas above the falls in more depth. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no trout above the falls, but there are isolated populations elsewhere in this general area.
