Just a reminder to everyone out there that amazing fathers do exist and to hold out for amazing men to be your partners😭💕.
(My handwriting is seriously terrible so please excuse that)
I’m a massively raging feminist, and you know who’s always backed me up? My dad.
He’s never agreed with me blindly and has always asked questions, challenged my ideas, and pushed me to learn more every single day. I didn’t even realize there was a "difference" between men and women until I was 16. I remember going to tuition (Vandana gk-2 for those of you who relate with the torture) one day, and the teacher asked how many of us helped out at home. Only one boy raised his hand. I was shocked — because in my world, it was normal for men to be a part of helping out.
My dad always helped around the house, even though we had two maids. And it wasn’t something to be praised, it was just the norm. Something to be expected out of two adults who decided, unanimously, to have a house and kids. My mom made sure my little brother, who was just 8 at the time, learned to do the same. It was just how things were, shared, equal, no questions asked.
I’ve played sports my whole life. My mom was always a little worried I’d get hurt, but she still encouraged me to chase whatever I wanted. And my dad? He literally threw me into tennis lessons (he used to be a tennis player himself). When I didn’t like tennis, he said, “That’s fine just pick another sport.”
Because of that freedom, that support, I became a national-level football player. Sure, I haven’t played in 6 years, but that’s still something I’ll always be proud of, and it started with him.
I truly wish every girl had a dad like mine. One who’s supportive, loving, kind, and shows you exactly what it means to be a great partner and an even greater man.
Anyway, Dad, you’ll probably never see this because your social media skills are limited to YouTube Shorts, but still… shoutout to the best, most liberal, loving dad ever.

A love letter to dads
