Issue with the center of my scalp

Medium to high porosity. Fine strands. High density. Every wash day I struggle with detangling the middle of my head. There's always mats and I'm only tenderheaded in that spot😩 The hair there is also shorter due to me having to cut out tangles. I don't know why this happens as i always leave my hair in twists.
