TONSTAD Extendable Dining Table - Serial Manufacturing Defect?

We bought this table, only to discover that the tabletop sections can’t be connected in the non-extended position. The connectors are about 1–2 millimeters too far apart, so they won't click in the locked position. On the middle section, the connectors are positioned about 1–2 millimeters closer to the edge, and those fit together correctly.

We returned it to the store, where they offered a refund or a replacement. We asked whether replacing it would make sense, since it didn’t seem like a one-off manufacturing defect. They said it’s about a 50-50 chance. We decided to try another one, only to find the exact same issue.

This was in Switzerland; I'm wondering if anyone else faced the same problem elsewhere.
