5" Toolless guiderod, shock buff, 11# spring problem

So I know there are a ton of posts about toolless guide rods, etc. Is anyone having any issues reassembling after changing to toolless guiderod, changing the spring or adding a shock buff. I was tinkering with the new spring and after cleaning when i would go back to reassemble the slide wont go rearward enough to insert the slide stop. After a few tries it did but then somehow the bull barrel got shifted in front of the lugs and was stuck. I am at a loss at what to do. I mean I was able to get it unstuck but not sure what is causing these issues. Is it the new 11# spring, guiderod (i assume not since so many people are having no issues with it), the shockbuff or a combo of the 3?
