Well, FSU has a problem. Actually, multiple problems.

When watching the three straight losses, the glaring problem is the defense. Players look lost and late to their assignments. There’s very little moxie, confidence, or attitude. The good plays we have had have largely been due to mistakes by the opposing offenses, not us necessarily playing great defense. I’d give the defense a 4/10 over the past 3 games. So, is this a player personnel / recruiting problem, or a coaching problem? I can understand player talent inhibiting coaching, but the lack of discipline indicates a coaching problem.

On offense, I think we look good but not great. I’d give them an 8/10. Playcalling at times feels predictable and we’ve had “cute” plays absolutely blown up by opposing defenses. But, I feel the offense plays well enough to win games. Tommy C is very confident and inspires the team. They move the ball well. They have been absolutely handicapped by the defense allowing long, time consuming, and sustained drives to the opposition.
