Did I ruin my profile for MBA?
Hey everyone,
I'm getting into researching everything MBA. After reading lots of what's been said in this subreddit, it seems like the main path to an MBA is getting 3-5 years of related work experience before applying for one.
In my case, I graduated from UCLA in 23' with an ELTS degree - European Language and Transcultural Studies with a specialty in French. At the time, I had no idea what I wanted to do, and quite frankly, I'm still figuring that out. So, I went with the French degree as I'm French (am an EU citizen) and I'm blessed with parents who wanted to see me get a degree and supported my plan as I wanted the credential from UCLA, and I knew my profile would "guarantee" admission.
Anyways, I didn't want to walk out of college with just that degree, so I worked for various automotive companies doing contract content creation and general business help to gain first-hand experience. After graduating, I helped my dad build his construction business, where he specializes in building custom homes, before starting my own engraving business. I still work with my dad alongside a restaurant job while working on my business, which is doing OK.
My resume is pretty big at this point, and unless more detail is needed, I would love to hear what you guys think I can do to maximize my profile to pursue an MBA? Or did I ruin it with my undergrad major choice?
