The Fightin’ Fish finished off their 2025 season 79-83, 17 wins better than 2024 and far better than what their preseason expectations were. I am predicting that there’s a strong possibility they make a similar jump and make the playoffs and possibly contend for their division. From June 12 until the end of the regular season, the Marlins had the 3rd best record in the NL, and crept all the way from 16 games under .500 to 55-55 in early August. Unfortunately after this they hit a bad stretch and had terrible injury luck, but still managed to finish just 4 games under .500. And that was without their breakout star outfielder Kyle Stowers for the last month and a half.

They are one of the most disciplined teams at the plate, they don’t chase. They’re very good with 2 outs and with runners in scoring position, and were 6th in MLB for both hits and doubles this year. They will get Kyle Stowers along with Marsee and Conine in the outfield next year, with Xavier Edwards at second and Otto Lopez at short. They’ll have another year of Agustin Ramirez and his otherworldly potential, and they’ll see the debuts of top 100 prospects Robby Snelling and Joe Mack next year, and possibly even Thomas White as well.

As for their rotation, Braxton Garret will be off the IL by opening day, Ryan Weathers played well when on the field, Sandy Alcantara and Eury Perez finished their seasons off strong, and Edward Cabrera finally put it all together this season. They’ve also got some great pieces in the bullpen in Ronny Henriquez, who sneakily was one of the best relievers in baseball last season, and Tyler “I hate hitters” Phillips.

I do understand that there is a lot of uncertainty as to whether certain players like Sandy or Edward Cabrera will still be Marlins by the start of next season, but at the end of the day, Sandy really doesn’t want to play anywhere else, and Eddy was also relieved when he wasn’t traded at the 2025 deadline.

This is the best I’ve felt about a marlins team in a very long time, and I really believe that they could be the big surprise of the 2026 MLB season. They’ll have a great starting rotation, a sneaky amount of pop, and most importantly, a young, scrappy team that wants to be there and wants to win games for the city of Miami. Look out for those Marlins.

The Miami Marlins, yes THOSE Marlins, will win 88-93 games next year
