I'm getting it off my chest(Penpal Spoilers)

SpoilerDiscussion (past episode)

I finally went back and listened to Penpal the other day. I thought the first few parts were EXCELLENT. Screens wasn't as great IMO, but I still enjoyed it, and then the end fell off a cliff for me and I've never seen anyone talking about it.

Question 1: why did Josh get kidnapped instead of the protagonist? The monster had nearly unrestricted access to the protagonist throughout his whole childhood. Why would he kidnap the protagonist's friend and dress him up in the kid he REALLY wanted's clothes instead of just grabbing the one he actually wanted.

Question 2: the idea that Josh's dad would have buried the body is fucking crazy, and the whole situation doesn't make a lot of sense. For one, this guy really saw a big hole with a giant coffin in it, and didn't ask any questions, just covered it up? For two, Josh was still alive at the time of burial, and since he'd killed the monster, I have a hard time believing he was knocked out with ether, espevially considering that the whole emotional point is that he was aware and suffering. He didn't yell out, didn't push the lid off (it can't have been nailed down, since the monster got inside with him), didn't do anything? I also have a hard time buying that he couldn't have wriggled out from underneath the dead monster, given that, again, the lid wouldn't have been secured in any way.

I just felt really disappointed by the end. It all felt like it was contrived to elicit an emotional response and it seems like it just worked on everybody.
