bitcoin etfs pull in $2.7B in “uptober”, institutional bulls ignoring tariff fear?

Spot bitcoin ETFs saw about $2.71B in net inflows this week, continuing their hot streak in “Uptober” despite renewed concerns over tariffs. Investors seem to be leaning into crypto exposure even as macro headwinds blow.

This kind of capital inflow tells us a few things: first, institutional conviction is strong, these aren’t small bets. Second, ETFs are increasingly becoming the go-to vehicle for gaining regulated exposure to bitcoin. Third, while macro noise is real, it may no longer deter allocators who have already made the bet.

Still, there are big questions. Can this momentum hold if tariff tensions ramp up again? Will the retail crowd follow institutional flows or remain sidelined? And how long before we see profit taking or reversal pressures set in?
