Is there any point to seeing a doctor about this?

I’ve been under long term stress for the past four months. Initially I lost about 15 pounds within three weeks but the weight loss has slowed significantly to about a pound every 2 weeks now. Recently I’ve noticed some cognitive and memory problems. It takes me about 30 seconds to remember what I did the day before, I struggle mid sentence to remember words or figure out how communicate properly and often go abruptly quiet, and I cannot remember conversations with people. I recently went to a youth mental health walk in and found it helpful but within 2 hours I couldn’t remember anything that was said and still can’t, for example.
I don’t have a GP so speaking to someone about this would involve 4~ hours waiting at a walk-in. Other people have told me to speak to a doctor but I’m trying to gauge if it’s worth it because I can’t imagine a way this can be helped as again, it’s probably sourced from stress.
