SOCAL: Termite Spot Treatment for extensive signs of Termites - Preparation & what to expect?
Hello! About a month ago, I found around 8-10 winged termites in my shower and reported it immediately. My apartment complex was prompt, had an exterminator 24 hours later check the bathroom. Found droppings on window sill that I can’t reach. (I have had these droppings occurring since I moved in, basically on all my windows, but only around summer time not consistently, but previous owners of the complex told me it was probably seeds from the trees outside my unit / checked out bc seasonal) Anyways, they chose to spot treat. They are coming in a few days for treatment to my unit and the exterminator told me it’d take about an hour and I could stay if I wanted, but nothing else.
I have been asking my property mgr if there are any precautions I have to take for spot treat, but they are unfortunately not being super helpful or responsive, as the only message was “keep all treatment areas clear” - I don’t even know where treatment is occurring. Are there any other precautions I have to take for a spot treatment? What do I expect post treatment? Are spot treatments cat safe? I tried to google but it keeps reverting to tenting precautions. Thanks for any help or insight. I’m fairly young and have no experience (thankfully) with extermination or termites.
Pls note: I know tenting is more effective however I have no say as this is a multi unit property.
