Should I ask out a girl from work?

So I(M21) started working at this place about two months ago, and there’s this girl(F20) who caught my eye the moment I met her. She’s in another department, so we don’t really see each other that much — just during smoke breaks sometimes or when we pass each other. If our shifts overlap, we probably see each other for like 10 minutes tops.

I really like her and kinda want to ask her out, but I’m not sure if I should since we work at the same place. There’s always the chance we’ll run into each other, and I’m not sure how I’d feel if she said no — it might make things a bit awkward.

For some context, I haven’t really dated in some time because I wanted to focus on myself. I’ve been going to the gym consistently, got back into reading, and even started learning a new language. The downside is that between work and all that, I don’t have as much free time for dating as I used to.

That said, I feel like I’m finally ready to date again and maybe even commit to something serious — but honestly, I’m a bit scared.

So yeah, should I ask her out? And if so, any tips or advice on how to go about it without making things weird at work?

TL;DR: Met a girl at work two months ago, really like her but we’re in different departments. Thinking about asking her out, but worried it could get awkward if she says no since we work at the same place. Haven’t dated in a while but feel ready to get back into it. Looking for advice on whether I should go for it and how to handle it.
