Please help. Need commuter car- 10k cash
Basically looking for a very reliable car that’ll last at minimum 5+ years for commuting almost daily (Approximately 90 highway miles, 5 days a week).
My needs: -Good highway MPG -AWD since I live off a dirt road where it sometimes snow -Some type of power since my commute is through a mountain pass -4 door for if I ever need to use it with the kids in emergencies.
I have been looking at Mazdas (flexible on which), Toyotas, Honda accords, civics.
My question is, since I’m going to rack up a ton of miles with the commute is it worth it to maybe take out a small loan with cash down for a used car anywhere from $17-22k or should I just get a car with the cash I have? Reliability is a huge point for me.
Also I’m not mechanically inclined. My knowledge with cars is verrrry limited sadly 🥲
