Ten Bells - a great entry in the anomaly genre.

DISCUSSION

I just finished playing through Ten Bells, and for any anomaly fans out there, I really recommend it. The game takes place in a horseshoe-shaped English pub from yesteryear, and as always with these kind of games, you walk through it trying to spot any anomalies as you go. If you don't see any you leave through one door, and if you do, you turn back and leave the way you came in. Each time you get it correct you get a bell, and you're aiming for 10 in a row, since any mistakes resets you back to zero.

One of the cooler things about it is there's a narrative that unfolds as you play and reaches the climax once you get your tenth bell. It's nothing fancy, but it adds another layer to the game that I really enjoyed. Another nice touch is that, when you get the ten bells, all the anomalies you've seen appear as a list on the wall, with question marks for the ones you missed or just didn't come across, so it incentivises you to go back again until you see them all. If you do, you get an extra little bit to the story.

It is a really short game - I finished the normal setting (all anomalies) in 111 mins, so just shy of 2 hours. But it costs less than 5 quid and I thoroughly enjoyed it so it's worth it IMO.
