Could use a little advice
So, I’m thirty, I haven’t done much dating - for various reasons I’ve been stuck at home, and just didn’t want to make it a priority with other things going on. Now, I’ve moved out, focusing more on myself, and really trying to find someone. At the same time, I have OCD, and constantly overthink dating, sex, etc. and it’s something I’m trying to tackle.
It feels like a miracle, but I have a hinge date tomorrow night, my first in literally years, and I’m kinda nervous. I’m not expecting it to end in a one night stand - I also kinda don’t want it to, as I’m trying to find someone I actually like, and someone who just likes me.
Here’s the thing - we’ve barely talked on the app, and I’m glad that I actually get to try to know someone in person rather than just messaging one off on some app. But, here’s what I need help with - what the heck do I talk about? Does it even make sense to mention my anxiety? The plan is to get a drink at this pizza bar nearby.
If it goes well, do I go for a kiss? I guess I’ve always wondered if that makes sense on a first date? I guess I’m anxious that if I go for it and she doesn’t want it, I feel like an ass? Do I give her a hug when I meet her or is a handshake enough? Is either just weird?
Can you tell I like to overthink 😂
