Going to the club for the first time

I live in Montreal and I’ve never been to the club/bar before and I’m terrified. I don’t wanna meet anyone off of Grindr because it’s really not my vibe anymore to fuck someone that’s a stranger to me.

I’ve been thinking about going to the club or a bar and I’m nervous because I don’t know what to expect. I don’t think I visibly “ look” gay as I’m not that feminine but at the same time I am used to getting approached so I never really approached someone before. What would be the best way to approach someone?

What makes you scream “oh he’s gay!” When you see someone at the club. How can I be more approachable to guys. Should I wear something specific? I also don’t have friends in this city so would me going alone be weird? I’ve always wanted to get to know people and hook up through a smooth transition and not a spontaneous apartment visit. #CANCELGRINDR2026
