How to check system

Hi guys, i ordered a MacBook Air M4 16GB 512 GB Sky Blue from an authorized Apple dealer which Is a friend of my dad. The weird thing is, I ordered it 2 weeks ago and he says it hasn't arrived yet because the color i choose was ordered much and It was out of stock. I'm worried he's trying to find a refurbished one to sell me as a new. When it arrives, how can I check if the MacBook is actually new? Thank you so much.
