Skincare recommendations for dry skin caused by Isotretinoin treatment

I’ve been on 35mg of Isotretinoin daily for about 3 months now. While it has definitely cleared my skin up of the cystic acne and really oily skin I use to have, it has in turn dried my skin up ALOT and I really need to change my skincare to deal with this dryness that I’m just not use to.

The dermatologist did recommend looking up Cetaphil products so I have bought their ‘Gentle Skin Cleanser’ and ‘Daily Defence Cream SPF50’ but today my friend said that wasn’t enough and said I should also buy more moisturiser and some toner and night cream.

I’ve honestly never been this invested in skincare as before I started on Isotretinoin I only used an anti-acne cleanser, make-up wipes and SPF30 sun cream. So would it be good for me to buy more moisturiser and stuff?

I don’t really know what toner does, but my friend uses a lot of skincare products and has really great skin so I do trust that she definitely knows more than me but I’m not seeing my dermatologist for another month so I thought I’d ask Reddit in the meantime 😅
