I think I’m close to making a friend but after I’m going to ruin it

I recently got a job and there this guy who’s my age I talk to him and just ask how’s your weekend and that small talk and he sometimes approaches me and says hi which I never had but when I’m talking to him I’m so paranoid that I’m going to ruin my change of having a friend. Afterward I critique everything I said
