Should I buy the current Big Box or wait for the new 3.0 re-releases?

Hey everyone,

I’ve only played a few games of Carcassonne so far but absolutely loved it, and now I’m looking to buy my own copy. I was about to grab the 2022 Big Box, but I’ve just learned about the upcoming “Carcassonne 3.0 / New World” re-releases and I’m not sure what to do.

Should I go ahead and buy the current Big Box now (since it has the newer art and lots of (some exclusive?) expansions), or hold off in case they release a new Big Box under the 3.0 line?

I also noticed the Big Box already includes Inns & Cathedrals and Traders & Builders, which are being re-released under 3.0, so I guess there'd be some double-up later on. Maybe those double-up tiles could still be used?

I’d really appreciate any advice from players who’ve been through past re-releases, what would you do if you were just getting into Carcassonne right now?
