Major scar healing tip - Botox!
My injector used to be a surgical nurse in plastics for years (she actually worked for my PS for a few years) and told me something I’d never heard before. Apparently getting Botox along your incision helps it heal soo much better.
It works by relaxing the tiny muscles around your incision so the skin isn’t being pulled while it’s trying to heal. That means less tension, less inflammation, better blood flow, and fewer of the cells that make scars thick or raised.
Basically, it helps your incision heal smoother and flatter. Thought that was worth sharing for anyone prepping for surgery or early in recovery since I haven't seen it talked about here. Timing is usually a month or so out from surgery, depending on how you're healing. Ask your PS! :)
