Yoto Card not playing without wifi

Question and maybe some quick troubleshooting. We’ve had our yoto mini for our 4 yr old for a little over a year now. It’s amazing and the collection continues to grow.

My little one got a new pack for her birthday and she grabbed a card for the car that she hadn’t listened to yet. The listening started in the house and moved to the car. As soon as we left the driveway and the range of wifi, the book immediately stopped and gave an audio message saying we must be online to play this content.

I’ve never had that experience and it kinda defeats the point. My initial thought is that maybe while the card is simultaneously playing, it’s also downloading the content to the card itself the first time it’s played. The card and yoto were only on wifi for less than a chapter. Could that be the issue or does this card really not work when played offline.

Card: Magic Tree house series 3: #15 Viking ships at sunrise.

Thanks for any insight.
