Issues with Scope Zeroing & Windsor Adjustment Limits
I recently purchased a used Tikka T1x .22 LR bolt-action rifle, along with a second-generation Discovery ED PRS scope. I’m using a 34mm Discovery Optics two-piece mount. Today at the range, I tried to zero the scope at a 50-meter target. The weather was calm, with no wind. However, my first shots were about 18 cm to the left of my aim point. When I calculated, it turns out to be roughly 3.6 mils. I’m unsure whether this is normal or if there might be an issue with the scope, the mount, or the rifle. I’ve followed a YouTube tutorial for mounting, using a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness. I even tried to mount everything once again- with leveling etc at shooting range, but no changes. I’m also worried whether such an adjustment—close to 4 mils—is still within a reasonable range, as there is a limit to how far you can dial adjustments horizontally . I’m worried that if I keep adjusting it that far, I might run out of adjustment range during windy day (max wind adjustment 8.7MRAD). I’m looking for advice—what should I check first?
