failing a gen ed class

Academics

Im currently taking HK271 class which is an asynchronous online gen ed class. Yesterday was the due date for my final paper but I couldn't turn it in and I got 0 for that, so my grade went down to D.

I had a low blood pressure attack last week and i literally fainted, so it took almost the entire week for me to recover from that. (I've suffered from this for years, so I didn't go to McKinley or anything, meaning I don't have any supporting documents)

I was half done with the paper and I tried to get the other half done yesterday before the deadline, but since I was feeling so bad I couldn't (I had to skip almost every other classes last week too)

I sent emails regarding this to the grader, but she didn't reply back and I got 0 for the final paper and my grade became D. I don't think it makes sense that I failed for the easiest gen ed class because of this one final paper, and since I am a freshman, I literally do not know what to do at this point..

So my questions are

  1. Do u guys think it's okay to retake this gen ed class next semester or next year?
  2. Is the current failing grade going to affect my entire gpa even though I decide to retake the course?
  3. What should I do now.? Just walk in to the advisor office? Im literally in panic rn :(
