Started Arkham Horror LCG Last Week. Send Help (and Money)

I need to make this post… I only started playing recently (a little over a week ago), but I’m deeply impressed by this game in a way I haven’t been in my 41 years as an analog/digital gamer.

First, a bit of background: I was born in the 80s, and in the 90s I had my first contact with adventure books and RPGs, all the masterpieces by Peter Jackson and Ian Livingstone. My favorite books were Einsamer Wolf (Lone Wolf by Joe Dever and Gary Chalk).

I witnessed the birth of Magic: The Gathering and played it A LOT, I still have some cards from that era. I also played Spellfire (I loved the card art, but the game itself was pretty mediocre lol). I played plenty of RPGs too: GURPS, Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf, D&D...

Of course, I went through all generations of video games. I spent many years gaming on PC, and later I got heavily into board games, after all, we lived almost a decade in Germany, the land of board games.

Today I have quite an impressive board game collection, pretty much all the ones I love. I’m a huge fan of Cole Wehrle’s designs (I have all his games except Oath 😴), Dune: Uprising, Fate of the Fellowship… In the past few years, I’ve been playing a lot more analog games than digital ones.

Last week, I impulsively bought Arkham Horror: The Card Game (Revised Core Set) it was 40% off on Amazon. I’ve been eyeing the game for years, but maybe I somehow knew I’d fall in love with it… and also go broke because of it.

Well, here I am… ten years late to the party, but completely blown away by how good AHCG is. It feels tailor-made for me: it has deck-building (Magic), RPG/adventure elements (Lone Wolf), and it’s cooperative (board games). PLUS (for me this is VERY important) I can play solo.

My first play was a bit clumsy, still learning the rules, but it was incredibly fun nonetheless. Since then, I’ve played multiple times, rebuilt the core decks, and now I’m eagerly waiting for the expansions (campaigns, investigators, standalone scenarios, and starter decks) I managed to buy, depending on stock and budget 😂.

What a game, my friends! Now I totally get why people here have been playing it since launch and never stopped.

Even if I’m late to the party, I truly hope AHCG still has a long life ahead.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to hunt down a Dunwich Legacy Investigator Expansion…

• The Scarlet Keys Investigator Expansion

From these five with good discounts which one would you recommend, considering what I already own?
