Free “Word of the Week” videos for KS2 – perfect for creative writing warm-ups this term

Hey everyone,
I’ve been making a short weekly YouTube series called Word of the Week for my KS2 students to help boost their vocabulary and inspire their writing.

Each episode introduces one interesting word (like macabre, resilient, and quixotic) with examples, etymology, fun rhymes, and a matching differentiated PowerPoint activity.

They’ve gone down well as literacy starters and Halloween-themed lessons — and they’re totally free to use in class.
