How to prepare my migration to an Unifi Gateway and minimize downtime
Hi all,
As I'm quite happy with the Unifi hardware (I bought 4 AP in the last month and they are great), I'm considering migration from an OPNsense box to my UX7 (and stop using only as an AP)
But I work from home most of the time, and so does my wife. So I want to prepare the configuration on another device and simply import the configuration on the UX7 and move my cables to use it as router/firewall.
I have a VM running UOS to handle the Wi-Fi configuration.
I need :
- 1 public interface (DHCPv4 and routed IPv6) 1 trunk interface with 3 VLANs (One for IOT, for the WFH devices and 1 for the rest)
- 1 Wireguard client with a public provider, and PBR to route only 1 device on my network through the VPN.
- 1 Wireguard server for all my devices when roaming. My son uses it too at times
Quite a few NAT & firewall rules to isolate the vlan between them but authorize the WFH vlan to access designated servers on my LAN (the IOT Vlan is strictly isolated, for now)
Is there a way to prepare the configuration on a gateway running in a virtual machine ?
