Top surgery UK

For those of you in the UK. If you did top surgery privately how did you get the process started? Do I have to go to the doctors about it first to get referred or do I go directly to the surgeon? And how would I do that? I’m on a long waiting list for the NHS GIC but I am with genderGP 🙄 I am looking to hopefully Manchester to get it done as I’ve heard good things and it’s only 2hrs away.

Any information would be great appreciated!
