How do I LOCK my character from accessing certain cosmetics

I know, this is a very confusing question indeed. "Why would you do that?", you might ask.
Well, I used a cloud gaming service to play NMS today with presumably modified files.
After completing expedition 19, I noticed that ALL of my customization options are accessible now. Even the rewards from the expeditions I haven't completed yet. I'm not a fan of this approach and it kind of locked me out of certain things to do and to look forward in this game. I'm genuinely pissed off now! :)
What have I tried:
I used goatfungus' NMS Save editor to lock all the rewards that I haven't unlocked through my normal gameplay yet. It now shows that these items are, indeed, locked when I go and check them through quicksilver vendor. But they're still accessible for my character to use them.
I noticed that unlocked customization items also count as "Known Products" - i thought that it should determine which items your character can use / craft, including some cosmetics. But I guess it's not the case, because all the items that I have locked once again are not present in this section.
What else should I try?
