Registration Woes

Bought a car from out of state. I'm in MI. Went to the DMV (SOS in MI) to get it registered, They are asking for the title. Reached out to the dealer and they say bank holds the title. I'm confused. Anyone else been in this situation? I have not reached out to the bank yet.
