Recommendations for adding security to my existing unifi network

I currently have the original UniFi Express device that i believe has been discontinued. I haven't had any issues with it. This is for my home, with only a few users and 2 APs. I don't have any real complaints, but i do have 2gb/s fiber now that isn't entirely utilized with the current hardware, but i dont have any other 2gb switches yet to connect all my wall ports to anyway.

I want to add security. I am between the Network Video Recorder Instant Kit and the Cloud Gateway Max. The 4 turrets will likely handle all my needs, but i may add a PTZ in the future.

my main concern is throughput and load. Is it better to have the NVR as a dedicated piece of hardware to keep that compute load off the gateway? What considerations should i be thinking about when comparing these two possible solutions?

The cheaper storage of the NVR is not a huge plus, as i have a large NAS i would likely archive most of my footage to anyway, but i'm not really sure how this process works but i hear it is supported.
