Pre-settled to settled switch question (national insurance)
Hello all!
I’m filling out the application to switch from pre-settled to settled and have a question about the National Insurance section.
While I do have a NIN, I only got it last year and haven’t used it as I’m not employed. I know they use the NIN to expedite checking if a person has been here enough time to switch from pre-settled to settled so in my case that would be a no.
I have been here for over 30 months within the last 60 months so that’s what I’m basing my application on and have bank statements and tenancy agreements to prove.
My question is, if I say “Yes” to having the NIN do I still have the option to add supporting documents as proof of residency? Or will they simply check my NIN and dismiss my application?
Should I mark “No” and after that I’ll get the option to add the documents?
Thanks in advance!
