First Service
I have a question for the group. I just took my 2024 Ioniq 5 for its first annual service. I know we are a little bit late as it has about 21,000 km. The dealership is saying because we use regenerative breaking too much, all four rotors must be machined down, all pads to be replaced, and all of the brakes (e.g., calipers) need a complete service, including sandblasting to remove rust. My question is am I being ripped off. The advisor said it’s standard for BEVs, and as this is my first BEV, I am not sure. Also said nothing covered under warranty, even after I pressured him to on this being beyond wear-and-tear if such work needed after 21,000km. I am in Ontario Canada; car is parked in open-air during the day and in garage overnight.
