Pride always felt it was misplaced as one of the Seven Deadly Sins. After all, how is believing in yourself so terrible? What’s wrong with self-esteem? People should feel good about who they are! Just don’t get weird about it. Humility, now that’s a load. Especially when someone makes a big deal about how humble they are? 

You heard that right, by the way, that is what Pride itself thought. The personification of Pride, that is. Not quite gods or demons, there exist Personifications of abstract experiences shared by all humankind. A long time ago some helpful philosophers and scholars lumped Pride in with 6 other Personifications and things have been trouble for Pride ever since.

Pride has had quite enough of that. You can only try to make Pride feel bad for so long. So Pride has come to Earth to change people’s minds on pride. He’s having big adventures, fighting crime, saving people, and fighting over-powered supervillains just to show everyone that Pride is good. But he’s going to have to deal with Envy who wants the adoration Pride is getting, Wrath who is angry that Pride is engaging in such foolishness, and Humility itself, who thinks Pride could get knocked down a few pegs.

Like all Personifications, Pride can fly, is superhumanly strong, and is impervious to physical harm. Pride is capable of inducing an inflated sense of self-worth and confidence in any individual.

As
