Advice for mixing two different fur pile lengths 2" and 1.5"
I'm looking for some wisdom from anyone who has experience on making two different fur lengths blend together. One of my fur colors was only available in a longer pile, and when putting it side by side with the other furs, my eyes can't help but see that it's noticably thicker. My initial thought is to use a guard on clippers on the longer fur to bring it to the length of the shorter fur.
However, since faux furs have varying length fibers like real fur to give it a more natural fur appearance, my fear is that I will end up with similar total length fur, but one fur will look natural, and the other clearly given a buzz cut. Will this be the case, and if so, would it be better to just trim every color down to 1-1.25" length with a trimmer for that blended look and feel? Or am just being overly worried?
I have plenty of experience sewing garments together, but I've never worked with faux fur before! I have found many discussions about shaving long pile down to short pile, but not much about shaving long pile down to slightly less long pile. Appreciate any tips!
