Scaled compliance training to 45k employees without an LMS and hit 90% completion
Came across BMO's approach to rolling out anti money laundering training across their entire workforce, and it's pretty different from the usual playbook. Instead of building out a massive LMS implementation, they delivered the whole program via text message in 5min daily lessons.
What stood out was the completion rates -90% finished the training vs the usual -30-40% you see with traditional hour-long modules.
They also cut training time from weeks down to 10 days, and employees could do it during downtime without blocking out calendar time.
The interesting part is how they handled something as serious as AML compliance through a channel most companies use for reminders and alerts. Apparently the format actually improved knowledge retention compared to their previous approach.
Curious if anyone else has experimented with breaking up compliance training like this instead of the standard "sit through a 2-hour course" model? Seems like there's something to the idea of meeting people where they already are instead of forcing another login.
