Do you take Fludrocortisone along with your Eliquis?
Hello! I have a question if I may.
I have orthostatic Hypotension and about a month ago I had my first AFib. I arrived at the hospital for a scheduled heart test and The nurse hooked me up to a blood pressure monitor and immediately asked me if I was in AFib. I said I don't know. I do know that for about 5 days before I was struggling with being short of breath, dizzy, palpitations and just not right. Another nurse arrived checked my bp and asked the same question...I was in AFib. I was lucky my cardiologist was in the hospital. After testing I was admitted to the hospital and had a cardioversion the next day.
I have been doing well since with the exception of my OH. They took away the Midodrine and Fludrocortisone and put me on Eliquis and Metoprolol. Long story short I went to see the AFib nurse yesterday and she said she could see no reason not to put me back on both drugs. So I always must go out and do my research and some are saying no interaction between Eliquis and Fludrocortisone where other websites say there is. Also saying Fludrocortisone is not to be used if you have AFib.
Question: Do any of you also deal with OH along with Afib? Do you take Fludrocortisone along with your Eliquis? Plus any information you might have on Fludrocortisone with AFib.
Thank you so much.
Sorry for my ramble.
