Amlactin
I think I post here that they were using one of their . I’m just wondering about this because I just saw a huge bottle at Costco and I was thinking should I buy it but I’m going to wait till it goes on sale because I just bought new moisturizers for eczema and a non steroidal itching cream sarna sensitive.
Anyway, the whole idea seems to be that it adjusts the pH of the skin barrier and makes it more acidic to help eczema etc. it has lactic acid in it, which is how it does it. I’m just wondering if there are any recent articles about this. I have only found one so far and didn’t have time to read it, but I’m going soon. I’m just wondering if that could help me not only with the eczema but with my hives and general itching etc. I guess it probably wouldn’t help with the hives because those are definitely from some sort of allergic thing going on I think anyway, I don’t know for sure.
Anyway, overall, my neck, I’m afraid to say this, knock on wood, looks so much better from stopping the steroids on my neck and putting oatmeal cream and only washing it once per day.. I also started using Sarna sensitive for the itching as needed. However I am definitely not free of itchy.…almost every early am for the past few days since the rash on my neck improved, I’ve been having profuse itching all over my body, which seems an allergic reaction. Yesterday was really bad. I also had a bad severe low blood sugar and the itching seemed to come on at the same time. I don’t think this has ever happened before. But anyway, I ate several different things… I could not sleep and I got up to eat something and then the itching starts… then I go upstairs to go back to sleep and boom, severe low blood sugar, etc. this is not something that normally happens when I have a severe blood glucose, however, I do get itching coming on and off with blood sugar going up and down, but not like this type of thing with an allergic reaction
I felt like my lips were going swell up, but they didn’t. And I was wondering if I was going to have to take Benadryl finally eventually when my blood sugar stabilized, and came back up the itching also got better.
I have not stopped using the clobetasol propionate foam on my legs, arms etc. when I feel the hives are coming and I have the severe itching. if I feel the itching and I put the foam on, it will stop the hives from even happening or prevent a severe episode.
But I have totally stopped for now anyway putting it on my neck, probably for like four days. I don’t put the foam there usually I put the cream. I also put the foam on my insulin pump insets Dexcom sensors when I take them out because they can get very very inflamed and very, very itchy and sometimes painful too, which is a nightmare.
Anyway, at least I have one thing to feel good about for now that my neck is starting to look normal now and not red and inflamed all the time. I hope this will continue.
So I was wondering if I should try AmLactin and see if that helps all of my itching by possibly adjusting ph.
It says not to put it on any open wounds… at this point I don’t have any, maybe just some minor scratches, etc. in addition my toe seems to be healing very nicely now and I have stopped bandaging it. I was recovering from an ingrown toenail infection, which was quite painful and I haven’t been able to do very much for 2 to 3 weeks now due to that.
