Why I think Halo players are passionate about getting back to legacy gameplay. There is no replacement

Something I think a lot of people don't consider when engaging in the topic of sandbox is there's no alternative for Bungie Era gameplay.

When people talk about bloom or sprint and clamber these are elements pioneered by CoD. If you want a similar gameplay experience to CoD there's always a Rainbow 6 and Battlefield game in the current market. Even most single player shooters offer similar gameplay like Fallout, Stalker. and Cyberpunk. For Halo however when Halo diverged from the original trilogy formula there was no replacement to migrate to.

The only 2 games I know of that played remotely like Halo CE/2/3 were Star Wars Republic Commando and the first F.E.A.R. game and both were 2005 titles. There has not been a single other game to my knowledge that tried to replicate Halo's gameplay

If you see a fan being a little passionate about returning to the legacy formula keep in mind there is not and probably will not be another game with a similar formula.
