Like many of you, I've been watching the rapid progress of generative AI video and wanted to run a real-world experiment to see if it could be used to create something genuinely cinematic and emotional.

I just finished a short piece called "Something Human." 

The challenge I set was to see if a 100% human post-production workflow could impart a soul into completely synthetic footage.

Here was the process:

* **Visuals:** All shots were generated using a text-to-video AI platform. No cameras, lenses, or lights were involved in the "shoot."
* **Edit:** I took the raw clips into Premiere Pro and treated them like dailies from a real shoot. This is where the pacing, story, and rhythm were built.
* **Voiceover:** The VO was generated with ElevenLabs, but I "directed" it through many iterations to get the right performance and cadence.
* **Sound Design & Color:** This was the most crucial part. I did a complete sound design from scratch - foley, ambiences, music and a full cinematic color grade to unify the visuals and give them life.

My takeaway is that this is less about "AI replacing artists" and more about the role of the director/editor/sound designer becoming even more important.
