Tried skipping period, now I'm spotting BAD

This is my first time trying to skip a period with nextstellis. The date my period was supposed to happen came and went fine, but for the past two days and now this morning I've been having bad cramps. Not to the level I had before (throwing up, practically bedridden), but it FEELS like I'm on my period.

I've also been spotting pretty much every day since the last day my period was supposed to be. I was always very regular before starting BC. The only difference today was that I woke up and there was more blood than normal. Not enough to get on the sheets, but it was red, fresh blood. I'm also experiencing period poops which SUCKS. I feel awful, up until trying to skip my period this BC worked fine? I tried switching from it, but my gyno recommended I keep taking Nextstellis and just try skipping my period instead. Do I make another appointment or wait until I'm bleeding more? Is spotting and period symptoms still supposed to happen while skipping them?
