What is the piggy bank?

Hey, been away from TOTM for a very hot minute and I see they added a lot

What is the piggy bank? What does it do and how do you add to it? I’m playing on Apple Arcade btw so I don’t have to physically purchase anything if that changes your answer.

Thanks!
