In a lot of threads about the [Elmwood-East Kildonan ward City Council by-election](https://www.winnipeg.ca/city-governance/wards-elections/2025-election) it's become apparent that much of this subreddit do not share Braydon Maz's Maple MAGA values. Some have expressed wonder and lack of clarity about who else is running and who is in the best position to beat Braydon.

Based on what I know of the ward, it seems to be [Emma Durand-Wood](https://www.emmadurandwood.ca/). Her campaign has had volunteer crews out door-nocking since the middle of July, way before anyone else. Unlike the focus on enormous campaign signs Braydon Maz, Abel Gutierrez, and especially Chris Sweryda have been employing, her strategy seems to be having [lots of smaller signs](https://scontent.fyxe3-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/542386160_122128703210924956_8500034597330376962_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=833d8c&_nc_ohc=cfDO2wzgo0sQ7kNvwHeM60G&_nc_oc=Adl5TIDNqFD6SkZJ6B6VzoYXzSwGDzLNDDG4xE-aZPuMn_AwQkKbVNOu42YiVdTWZso&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.fyxe3-1.fna&_nc_gid=p3-a36__0jaDGTUNTiHKgQ&oh=00_AfdpHApIdDWI_5Ldn5SvH_qJMMM6meyZmjI0wIDFGdSfpg&oe=68F432CA).

Whether you support [Emma Durand-Wood](https://www.emmadurandwood.ca/), '24 Trump train rider [Braydon](https://xcancel.com/BraydonMaz/status/1845587512519204962), or one of the five other candidates, if you're a [Canadian citizen who has lived in Winnipeg for the past six months](https://www.winnipeg.ca/city-governance/wards-elections/2025-election/information-voters) and live in the ward [GET OUT AND VOTE](https://www.winnipeg.ca/city-governance/wards-elections/2025-election/information-voters/voting-options)!
